Purpose:

As a Principal Piping Designer, you will be responsible for understanding the project scope, schedule, deliverables, milestones, manhour budgets, industry standards, codes, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Estimate line count and isometric quantities based on P&ID’s.
• Follow client procedures, project procedures, and specifications.
• Identify and request information using a 'Needs List' to maintain schedule.
• Use 3D review software (AVEVA E3D/Navisworks) to monitor design quality and progress.
• Review and approve deliverables before issuance.
• Coordinate design efforts across disciplines.
• Ensure verification procedures are followed.
• Experience in piping drawing checking and verification in office and field is a plus.
• Experience developing Piping Models, Pipe Supports, Equipment Models, Isometric, and Orthographic Drawings in AVEVA E3D is a plus.
• Develop general arrangements considering safety, maintenance, and construction, interfacing with all disciplines.
• Perform field design, including walk downs, locating tie points, routing pipes, and identifying support types, then input data into AVEVA E3D.
• Experience with Laser Scanning and integrating scans into AVEVA E3D is a plus.
• Execute projects within existing facilities with obstructions and constraints.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in piping and layout design for power generation and industrial facilities; chemical facilities experience is a plus; at least 2 years of AVEVA E3D experience.
• Proficiency with Microstation V8i & AutoCAD.
• MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Minimum 2 years of 3D model review experience with AVEVA E3D.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

• Degree or 2-3 year technical diploma with piping design training.

Preferred:

• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
