Position Title: Principal Designer – Piping

Location: Houston, TX

The Principal Designer- Piping is responsible for performing detailed design activities in the Piping discipline.

Essential Functions

1. Perform complex designs and layouts of Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Piping Plans, Sections & Isometrics and Piping Bill of Materials utilizing CAD hardware and software.
2. Review vendor drawings and information.
3. Train and direct designers and other CAD personnel.
4. Ability to function in lead role on projects.

Qualifications

1. 5 years of CAD experience
2. 10 or more years of design experience in a drafting environment developing Piping & Instrument Designs (P&IDs), piping plans and sections and piping bills of materials.
3. Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards
4. Previous project leadership preferred
5. Experience in piping projects for pipeline companies and/or upstream companies’ compressor stations, pump stations, and facilities preferred
6. Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
7. Recent version of AutoCAD and CadWorx required
8. Microsoft Excel

Education

1. High school diploma required
2. Associates Degree or certification from technical trade preferred
