About the role:

The Nuclear Company is seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Principal Palantir Foundry Developer to join our team.

The Principal Palantir Foundry Developer will be a technical leader and subject matter expert in designing, developing, and deploying robust data integration, analysis, and application solutions within the Palantir Foundry platform. This role will be instrumental in leveraging Foundry's capabilities to solve complex challenges across our nuclear energy operations, including engineering, operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, and supply chain. The successful candidate will translate business needs into scalable Foundry solutions, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with the stringent regulatory requirements of the nuclear industry.

This role reports into the VP, Software Engineering.

Responsibilities:

Foundry Solution Architecture & Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of complex data pipelines, data models (Ontologies), and analytical applications within the Palantir Foundry platform.
  • Architect scalable and secure data flows from diverse sources (e.g., operational technology (OT) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP), engineering tools, regulatory databases) into Foundry.
  • Develop custom applications, dashboards, and workflows using Foundry's suite of tools (e.g., Code Workbook, Contour, Quiver, Workshop, Slate).

Data Integration & Transformation:

  • Implement robust data ingestion strategies, ensuring high data quality, consistency, and timeliness within Foundry.
  • Utilize Foundry's data transformation capabilities to cleanse, enrich, and prepare data for analysis and modeling.
  • Ensure data lineage and auditability are maintained throughout the Foundry ecosystem.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Serve as a primary technical expert for Palantir Foundry, providing guidance, best practices, and mentorship to other developers and data users.
  • Lead technical reviews, provide critical analysis, and ensure the technical integrity and performance of Foundry solutions.
  • Stay abreast of new Foundry features, functionalities, and best practices, driving their adoption within the organization.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements:

  • Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders (e.g., operations, engineering, maintenance, regulatory affairs, finance) to understand their analytical needs and translate them into effective Foundry solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to define requirements, scope projects, and gather feedback.

Regulatory Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure that all Foundry solutions and data handling practices comply with relevant nuclear industry regulations (e.g., NRC guidelines, cybersecurity standards, data privacy laws).
  • Implement and enforce data security measures, access controls, and auditing within the Foundry environment.
  • Support internal and external audits related to data governance and Foundry usage.

Performance Optimization:

  • Optimize Foundry pipelines and applications for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the Foundry platform.

Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, software development, or data analytics roles.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on, in-depth experience specifically with Palantir Foundry, including significant experience in data modeling (Ontology), pipeline development, and application building.
  • Proven experience working in a highly regulated industry; direct experience in the nuclear energy sector is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python (PySpark) for data transformation and analysis within Foundry.
  • Experience with SQL and various database technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing concepts.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $198,000 - $228,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on asemi-monthlybasis.The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may includeexperience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
