This requisition may be filled as a Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer.

Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (CSSE) supporting the Triton program. The CSSE assesses and evaluates the customers’/stakeholders’ cybersecurity requirements, refines system cybersecurity requirements, guides security architecture, influences tool selection, evaluates implementations, and supports verification and risk management efforts.

Responsibilities

1. Perform software vulnerability assessments using static code analysis tools.
2. Familiarity with DoD and Navy cybersecurity workforce requirements, including certification and training, DoD 8140, and SECNAV M-5239.2.
3. Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including generating and maintaining artifacts for Navy system authorization.
4. Conduct system vulnerability scans with tools like ACAS, evaluate STIGs, and verify findings manually on various equipment.
5. Familiarity with agile and DevSecOps processes, including work control tools such as JIRA.

Basic Qualifications

For Principal Cyber Systems Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field plus minimum 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with at least 3 years; PhD with no experience required.
• Experience with NIST 800-160 system security engineering and SDLC.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR).
• Current IASAE II certification (CISSP preferred) or ability to obtain within six months.

For Senior Principal Cyber Systems Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field plus minimum 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with at least 6 years; PhD with 4 years.
• Experience with NIST 800-160 and SDLC.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR).
• Current IASAE II certification (CISSP preferred) or ability to obtain within six months.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in system security architecture.
• Ability to automate security processes using scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and Ansible.
• Networking technologies, troubleshooting, vulnerability assessments.
• Familiarity with Security Engineering documentation and certifications like IASAE III (ISSEP, ISSAP).
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
