Principal Network Site Reliability Engineer - OCI (REMOTE)

The mission of our Network Reliability Engineering team is to provide services that enable operational excellence in OCI networks at scale. We focus on auto-remediation of incidents, touchless and automated operations such as upgrading thousands of devices, safely pushing configuration changes, and seamlessly adding network capacity. We aim to build best-in-class network automation services to meet our customers' needs.

As a Principal Network Reliability Engineer, you will help design, build, test, deploy, and operate highly scalable solutions supporting Oracle’s next-generation Cloud Infrastructure. You should be comfortable managing complex distributed systems involving thousands of devices, possess strong coding skills, and have a solid understanding of networking and distributed systems. Valuing simplicity and scale, working collaboratively in an agile environment, and being eager to learn are essential. You must manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting, be results-driven, and thrive amid ambiguity. Most importantly, be a team player, eager to learn, and willing to contribute to team success. Participation in on-call rotations is expected.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network and software development
• Proficiency with Java/Python/C++ and object-oriented programming
• Experience with Linux
• Knowledge of network technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IS-IS, RSVP-TE, EVPN, VxLAN, etc.)
• Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of cloud computing and networking technologies
• Experience in large enterprises, ISPs, or cloud providers
• Experience developing service-oriented systems, REST APIs, and Python
• Experience with network automation or device management solutions
• Background in network support roles
• Experience with network modeling and programming (YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF)
• Familiarity with ticket systems like Jira and version control systems like Git
• Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies
• Strong technical knowledge in cloud networking, high-performance computing, and GPU systems
