Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer for Network Security DFIR in a hybrid role based in the U.S. You will lead forensic investigations and incident response across Core, Edge, and cloud networks with minimal supervision.

Lead advanced DFIR efforts, craft YARA rules, manage forensic tooling, and drive automation while delivering executive-level reports and maturing playbooks for high-impact security events.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience in digital forensics, network security engineering, or incident response.
• Proven track record of operating with autonomy and driving complex initiatives and major incident command.
• Deep experience with SIEM/data analysis platforms (Splunk, ELK).
• Proficiency with forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Volatility, X-Ways, SANS SIFT, KAPE.
• Authoring and operationalizing YARA/YARA-L rules for binary inspection, memory dumps, and file artifacts.
• Knowledge of core network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, TLS) and telemetry formats.
• Proficiency in scripting for forensic collection and processing (Python, PowerShell, Bash).

Responsabilidades

• Autonomous DFIR leadership across Core, Edge, and virtualized network infra.
• Executive incident command during major security events with cross-functional coordination.
• Network telemetry analysis using PCAP, NetFlow/IPFIX, logs.
• Forensics and artifact extraction, including YARA rule development.
• Threat hunting and IOC extraction to actionable detections.
• Automated DFIR tooling and cloud-native pipelines to accelerate response.
