Job summary

Benz Technology is seeking a hands-on Computer Network Defense professional to strengthen enterprise security by conducting vulnerability assessments, detecting intrusions, and delivering mitigation strategies. The role sits at the intersection of network engineering and cybersecurity operations and involves direct work with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in computer network defense (CND) and incident response.
• Networking knowledge across Cisco, Juniper, and Arista environments.
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment methodologies and tools.
• Packet analysis using Wireshark, tcpdump, or equivalent.
• SIEM experience with Splunk and/or Elastic.
• Cybersecurity analysis and threat investigation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive network defense activities including vulnerability assessments and intrusion detection.
• Analyze network routing devices, traffic flows, and audit logs from Cisco, Juniper, and Arista environments.
• Perform packet-level analysis to identify malicious activity and support incident response.
• Monitor and investigate security events using SIEM platforms such as Splunk and Elastic.
• Support digital forensics and exploitation analysis efforts.
• Research emerging vulnerabilities and technologies to develop mitigation actions.
• Document analytic findings and produce comprehensive technical reports for stakeholders.

• Analyze network routing devices, traffic flows, and audit logs from Cisco, Juniper, and Arista environments
• Perform packet-level analysis to identify malicious activity and support incident response
• Monitor and investigate security events using SIEM platforms such as Splunk and Elastic
• Support digital forensics and exploitation analysis efforts
• Research emerging vulnerabilities and technologies to develop mitigation courses of action
• Document analytic findings and produce comprehensive technical reports for stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Vulnerability assessment methodologies and tools
• Packet analysis using Wireshark, tcpdump, or equivalent
• SIEM experience with Splunk and/or Elastic
• Cybersecurity analysis and threat investigation

Desired Qualifications

• Hunt team or Blue Team operational experience
• Knowledge of Network Defense Integrity (NDI) Methodology
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and NIST cybersecurity frameworks
• Digital forensics and intrusion detection system (IDS) experience
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Relevant certifications: Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, or CISSP
