An aerospace client is looking for a Sr. Principal Network Engineer who will advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program’s systems.

Position: Sr. Principal Network Engineer

Pay Rate: $66/hr. - $88.32/hr. on W2 (DOE)

Duration: 12 months or longer

Schedule: 1st Shift (9/80A)

Responsibilities:

Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program’s systems
Implement engineering changes to the system as required
Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
Occasional travel may be required

Basic Qualifications:

CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 8 years of experience; OR 6 years of relevant experience with a Master (MS) degree; OR 4 years of experience with STEM PhD degree; an additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Experience with network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
Understanding of IP4 and IPv6 network design, including IP sub-netting and protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP.
Understanding of network device configuration and troubleshooting (ideally, Cisco IOS/IOS-XE).
Understanding of advanced features like GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
Familiar with network management protocols, like SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.
Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

DoD 8570 Security certification such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
A professional certification specific to the networking industry like a CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
Familiar with network management applications, like Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE.
Exposure to the Risk Management Framework, associated security controls, and STIGs.
Familiar with Windows, Linux, and VMWare configuration and troubleshooting.
Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
Experience with tactical/military radio networks, like Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC
Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL).
Proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio
