Job summary

Harris Computer is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to lead design and optimization of enterprise LAN/WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid networks across on-premises and Azure environments.

You will provide advanced expertise in routing, switching, security, SD-WAN, VPN, and load balancers, mentor engineers, and guide large-scale projects from design through implementation with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking and security.
• Strong experience with LAN/WAN, cloud networking, data center, SD-WAN, and hybrid environments.
• Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or other major cloud platforms.
• Experience with enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools.
• Experience leading network projects and providing technical leadership.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support scalable and highly available LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid networks.
• Provide advanced expertise in BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN, VXLAN/EVPN, VPN, QoS, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement and support Azure/cloud networking and hybrid connectivity solutions.
• Lead complex network troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
• Participate in network architecture, technology evaluation, and modernization initiatives.
• Develop and maintain network standards, configuration templates, diagrams, and documentation.
• Implement network security, segmentation, resiliency, and performance improvements.
• Analyze network performance, capacity, and traffic patterns and recommend optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Operations teams on complex solutions.
• Work with vendors, carriers, and partners to resolve issues and deliver network solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network engineers.

Position Summary

The Principal Network Engineer is a senior technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting complex enterprise network and security environments. This role provides technical leadership for network initiatives across on-premises, cloud, data center, and hybrid environments while ensuring reliability, security, scalability, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise networking and network security.
• Strong experience with LAN/WAN, cloud networking, data center, SD-WAN, and hybrid environments.
• Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and network troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or other major cloud platforms.
• Experience with enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools.
• Strong experience troubleshooting complex network and connectivity issues.
• Experience leading network projects and providing technical leadership.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications

• CCNP / CCIE or equivalent
• Microsoft Azure networking certifications
• AWS or Google Cloud networking certifications
• Other relevant networking or security certifications
