Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Network Architect to lead architectural design for Akamai's global connectivity platform and to guide software-reliant reliability enhancements across teams.

You will drive software-defined automation to reduce toil, establish telemetry and observability for real-time traffic and security monitoring, and steer capacity planning and cost optimization across routing, fabric, and edge security systems.

Qualifications

15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in network and software engineering
Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Source of Truth platforms
Ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment with agile leadership
Strong expertise in large-scale IP routing and network fabric architectures
Experience designing cloud-native infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code deployment frameworks

Responsibilities

Lead architectural design and development for Akamai's global connectivity platform
Drive software-defined automation to reduce toil and improve network reliability
Build telemetry and observability stacks for real-time global traffic and security monitoring
Champion software engineering practices, CI/CD, and SDLC standards across teams
Lead capacity planning and cost optimization across routing, fabric, and edge security
