Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Engineer Navigation or Principal Engineer Navigation to support the Vehicle Management System - Navigation team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role focuses on integrating navigation hardware and validating system performance across development, production and operations.

The candidate will conduct flight and lab testing, provide troubleshooting, and collaborate across multiple teams. A STEM degree and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 2+ years experience or Master's with no experience.
• Principal Engineer: Bachelor's with 5+ years or Master's with 3 years or PhD with no experience.
• General understanding of GPS, inertial sensors, and RF devices and how they interconnect.
• Experience with MS Office and MATLAB.
• Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, analyzers, or multi-meters.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Integrate navigation hardware, interfaces, and redundancy.
• Conduct system and flight testing in lab environments.
• Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting for Production and Field issues.
• Support proposal development, verification & validation, cost & risk analyses.
• Convert customer requirements into total system solutions balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
