Job summary

Genentech, part of Roche, seeks a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the Foundation Models and AI4DD initiatives from New York. You will own the MLOps/AgentOps stack, architect autonomous agents, and scale production ML systems across biomedicine domains.

You will collaborate with ML scientists and data engineers to turn open-ended research into robust, ship-ready workflows, shaping the long-term engineering roadmap and elevating the bar across gRED and the broader Genentech AI

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS, ML, or a related field with extensive ML infra experience.
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with large-scale ML systems and productionization.

Responsibilities

• Own MLOps/AgentOps stack for foundation models.
• Architect autonomous agents and manage memory/context.
• Design scalable distributed training and inference systems.
• Lead technical strategy for ML infra.
• Translate scientific problems into ship-ready systems.
