Job Description:

This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the posted location(s). No relocation is offered.

Overview

Position is required for providing Artificial Intelligence—including Generative AI—and Machine Learning-based automation solutions aligned with the company's strategic direction for network operational efficiencies that result in cost reduction and improved customer experience.

Supports AT&T's key initiatives in service assurance by developing data pipelines and AI/ML models within a highly complex technical architecture. AI and Machine Learning-enabled automation offer significant impact in reducing operational costs and enhancing customer experience, enabling dynamic ticket correlation, root cause analysis at scale, predictive analysis for issue prevention, anomaly detection, and insights into customer behavior and traffic trends.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical thought leader collaborating with Network Ops, Access Construction and Engineering, Labs, Network Systems teams to identify use cases, acquire data, provide insights through data analytics, define AI/ML models, and integrate new automated processes and software flows with operations.
  • Innovate and lead the development of new AI/ML solutions for Service Delivery and Service Assurance applications.
  • Develop AI/ML algorithms and cloud-based utilities addressing various use cases, laying the foundation for future efforts.
  • Provide strong technical leadership in this complex technical domain, leveraging knowledge of existing systems and transforming data, processes, and capabilities for future solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong network and software development experience with expert-level knowledge of AI/ML technologies, cloud-based systems, containerization, microservices, open-source tools, platforms, architecture, and security.
  • Deep AI/ML knowledge with ongoing learning in this rapidly evolving field, along with understanding of RAN, Fiber technologies, and network monitoring platforms and data.

Education and Experience

  • PhD in an approved field with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or Masters with at least 6 years, or Bachelors with at least 8 years of relevant experience from an accredited university.

Our Principal Member of Technical Staff earns between $160,900 - $270,400 USD annually, with additional benefits. Starting salary depends on location, experience, expertise, and education.
