Principal Mechanical Systems Development Engineer-Data Center|Liquid Cooling|CAD

What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Mechanical Systems Development Engineer, you will collaborate with cross functional teams to design, develop and validate solutions for data center IT racks.

You will:

  • Work in lab with engineering technicians to build prototypes and validate rack solutions
  • Prepare rack integration documentation for inspection/testing procedures
  • Support factories with build documents and trouble shooting
  • Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in related engineering role or equivalent skill
  • Liquid cooling experience with an understanding of thermal engineering and air/liquid cooling methods for IT racks
  • Skilled in Computer Aided Design (CAD) using Creo and Solidworks; must include 3D modeling and have the ability to generate engineering documents for manufacturing and inspection
  • Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions with ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues
  • Capability to influence others to achieve results

Desirable Requirements (2 maximum bullets)

  • BS degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering field
  • Knowledge of data center rack configuration and components

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $153k - $198k.
