Job summary

GS2 | B Corp™ is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical architecture for extreme environment systems in Austin, TX. You will act as the SME for high-vacuum, high-pressure, or high-radiation boundaries and direct external vendors on major fabrication packages.

You will guide structural calculations, fatigue analyses, and safety margins, and mentor engineers across cross-functional teams to deliver flight-critical hardware for energy demonstration projects.

Qualifications

• SME for high-vacuum, high-pressure, or high-radiation structural boundary components.
• Experience delivering flight- or plant-critical hardware through design reviews.
• Advanced expertise in non-linear FEA, creep analysis or weld joint design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for high-vacuum/high-pressure components and radiation boundaries.
• Lead structural mechanics calculations, fatigue analyses, and safety margins for vessels.
• Direct vendors and EPC partners on procurement and fabrication packages.
• Mentor junior and mid-level mechanical engineers across cross-functional teams.
