Motion Recruitment Partners is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Greater Boston area to lead design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and production release of complex mechatronic systems for automotive service automation. You will own multi-axis motion and robotics projects in a collaborative startup environment, interfacing with software, controls, and electrical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in robotics, automation, or industrial equipment development.
• Proven experience designing electro-mechanical systems from concept through production release.
• Strong expertise in actuator, motor, transmission, and sensor selection and integration.
• Experience working with encoders, load cells, proximity sensors, and other industrial sensing technologies.
• Expertise in system dynamics, simulation, modeling, and vibration analysis.
• Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA) for mechanical system validation.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical CAD design tools.
• Experience creating engineering drawings and documentation compliant with ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

This role focuses on the design, analysis, prototyping, testing, and production release of complex mechatronic systems involving multi-axis motion, industrial automation, and robotic manipulation. • Experience conducting kinematic and motion analysis
• Experience working with industrial controls and automation systems
• Experience establishing engineering documentation processes, BOM structures, CAD vaults, and part numbering systems
• MATLAB and/or Python programming experience
• Startup experience developing products in fast-paced environments
