Position: Principal Marketing Specialist

SAE International is seeking a dynamic and strategic Principal Marketing Specialist to promote the benefits of SAE membership and our University Program, including student events. The ideal candidate will develop and execute marketing strategies to highlight membership advantages and student competitions, drive engagement, and attract new members and participants. This role requires strategic planning, creative thinking, and hands-on execution to effectively communicate the value of SAE membership and University Programs to stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Collaboration: Act as the primary marketing liaison for Member Services, Professional Development, Events, and Foundation to align efforts with organizational goals.
  2. Agency Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for the marketing agency, ensuring alignment with SAE's strategic objectives and providing direction for campaigns.
  3. Marketing Strategy & Campaigns: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and multi-channel campaigns to promote SAE membership, student engagement, and event participation.
  4. Content & Digital Marketing: Create compelling marketing materials and manage digital campaigns across email, social media, and paid advertising.
  5. Event Promotion: Implement targeted strategies to increase awareness and participation in SAE student competitions and programs among students and academic institutions.
  6. Market Research & Analytics: Use industry insights and data analysis to shape marketing strategies and optimize campaign performance.
  7. Budget & Resource Management: Manage budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and campaign effectiveness.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
  • 6 years of marketing experience, preferably in a membership-based or non-profit organization.
  • Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email, and content marketing.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and data interpretation for decision-making.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with platforms like Workfront, Salesforce, Marketo, or similar.
  • Experience marketing membership organizations or programs is a plus.
  • Experience marketing to young professionals or incoming workforce is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standard office environment: remote or hybrid if in Pittsburgh, PA.
