Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Principal/Manufacturing Engineer at Level 2 or Level 3 to join the Launch Systems Manufacturing Integration Team. This 100% onsite role requires MES, DFM expertise and cross-functional collaboration to optimize production layouts and processes.

Responsibilities include designing processes for assemblies, selecting equipment layouts, and ensuring quality through testing and inspection. Relocation is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of related experience or Master’s with 0 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
• Experience with MES work instructions
• Proficient in DFM
• Experience with manufacturing processes, work cell layout, production build sequence, tooling design, troubleshooting/corrective action, and quality assurance.
• Experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
• Familiarity working with CAD, NX, Costpoint and Teamcenter

• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plans.
• Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, investigate and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
• Provide guidance to engineering regarding Design For Manufacturing (DFM) concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Northrop Grumman’ Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Manufacturing Engineer - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our Launch Systems Manufacturing Integration Team in Chandler, AZ.

This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Relocation assistance is not available.

Your Role And Impact

Required Qualifications For Level 3

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
• Experienced in creating, supporting & sustaining the use of Manufacturing Engineering System (MES) work instructions
• Proficient in DFM
• Experience with manufacturing processes, procedures work cell layout, production build sequence, tooling design, troubleshooting/corrective action, and quality assurance.
• Experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
• Familiarity working with CAD, NX, Costpoint and Teamcenter

Preferred Qualifications

• An active US Government Secret (or above) security clearance a
• A Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
• Familiarity with Northrop Grumman processes

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
