Manufacturing Engineers develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying products and manufacturing methods. They analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support these customer requirements. As a Manufacturing Engineer with our Raytheon team, you’ll apply your skills to develop, test, modify and create solutions through a collaborative effort with our stakeholders.

**Please Note: This position is located at the Raytheon Diné Facility in Farmington, NM. RTX- Diné Facility adheres to the Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act in areas of recruitment and hiring practices.

What You Will Do:

As a Principal Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Managing large scale design, control and improvements to the manufacturing process
  • Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
  • Establishing engineering design requirements tailored to manufacturing processes
  • Supporting manufacturing areas daily with process troubleshooting and incorporating engineering changes into the MDP
  • Leading non-conforming material analysis with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  • Leading Continuous Improvement to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate and reduce costs
  • Leading factory wide strategic improvement projects
  • Leading corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence
  • Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics into processes
  • Developing and maintaining influential relationships with internal customers
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at Raytheon’s Farmington, NM site.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position
  • Experience with a shop floor management system (i.e. SAP, PRISM, EPICOR, or similar ERP or MRP manufacturing software) and/or experience interpreting technical documentation
  • Experience leading teams or projects

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Technical drawing interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE)
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
