A leading innovator in radio location technology is seeking a Principal Engineer to advance core algorithms for its positioning platform. You will design, implement, and optimize signal processing and location estimation algorithms to determine the real-time position of devices. You will play a key role in shaping the company’s intellectual property and future product capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine and scale your innovations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop algorithms for extracting fine-timing and spatial data from wireless signals.
• Design and build custom test fixtures to benchmark system components.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing and improvement of location estimation techniques.
• Contribute novel techniques to the company’s growing IP portfolio.

Required Skills:

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent research experience in wireless communications.
• Deep knowledge of wireless systems, especially IEEE 802.11 standards.
• Strong understanding of wireless channel modeling and Channel State Information (CSI).
• Familiarity with location techniques like TDoA and time synchronization methods.
• Proficiency in Python, NumPy, and Linux command-line tools.
• Experience with software change management, preferably using Git.
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with RF certification bodies and regulatory standards.
• Experience with RF hardware design and machine learning techniques.
• Expertise in adaptive filtering and 3D wireless channel modeling.
• Advanced Python skills and knowledge of MATLAB for modeling and simulation.
