Washington State Department of Transportation is seeking a non-permanent Transportation Planning Specialist 5 to serve as the Principal Landscape Architect & Environmental Mitigation Program Supervisor. You will lead landscape architecture and environmental mitigation efforts, guiding staff, consultants, and projects across the Southwest Region.

• Advanced landscape architecture expertise including evaluating complex site conditions and providing technical recommendations for design, construction, compliance and implementation.
• Experience leading landscape architecture reviews, contracts, and regulatory requirements across projects.
• Strong ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences, in oral and written forms.

Responsabilidades

• Provide guidance and approval for staff, consultants, and stakeholders on WSDOT Roadside Policies.
• Lead senior-level landscape architectural work and regulatory compliant design.
• Design, stamp, and develop wetland mitigation sites and roadside restoration plans.
• Lead planning, scoping, reports, design and contract plans for complex projects.
• Provide technical guidance for environmental and roadside construction elements.
• Supervise two Transportation Planning Specialist 3 staff.
• Advise on Wetland Assessment and Environmental Mitigation Planning policies.
• Manage I-4 funds for environmental and roadside projects.
• Contribute Visual Quality and Resource Conservation Area expertise.
