Job summary

TYG is seeking an experienced Principal Landscape Architect to lead and grow its Sarasota-area landscape architecture practice. The role combines design leadership with business development and cross-disciplinary collaboration to deliver thoughtful, sustainable environments.

The ideal candidate will have a PLA license or be licensed, a strong portfolio, and a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while mentoring junior staff and advancing client relationships.

Qualifications

• Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) preferred/required.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of project experience.
• Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead landscape architecture projects from concept through implementation across a range of project types.
• Provide design direction, technical oversight, and mentorship to landscape architecture staff.
• Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, planners, and other consultants.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for new business.
• Support proposals, interviews, presentations, and other business development initiatives.
• Help grow and strengthen the local landscape architecture practice.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project delivery.
• Contribute to the development of design standards, processes, and best practices.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level landscape architects.

Key Responsibilities
