Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) is seeking a senior software engineer to lead development of business features in our trading platform, integrating upstream data sources and presenting data through a responsive UI, with a focus on performance and reliability.

You will collaborate across business and technical teams in an Agile environment, mentor others, and drive architectural decisions to support peak trading days.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software development experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Java-based applications.
• 4+ years of cloud and DevOps (AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, Harness).
• 4+ years of CI/CD (Jenkins, JIRA, Git).
• 2+ years of experience with distributed applications.
• 2+ years of experience in JavaScript framework application development.
• Experience with technically leading teams.
• Experience with relational and non-relational DB.
• Knowledge of IAM and secure coding practices (OWASP, Sysdig, Black Duck, Veracode).
• Ability to write clean, bug-free code that is easy to understand and maintainable.
• Get stuff done; flexible mindset for the organization.
• Intellectually curious and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver business features in the application with upstream data sources and UI.
• Ensure rock-solid reliability for the busiest trading days.
• Collaborate across business, technical and non-technical professionals in an Agile environment.
• Lead teams and solve complex project solutions involving multiple systems.
• Hands-on coding, testing, debugging, and documenting the systems.
• Prepare the application for production by delivering nonfunctional requirements.
• Recommend technologies and tools to improve efficiency and quality of OCC's systems.
