Role Overview

This role works within FPL's IT Operations organization, helping optimize reliability and security of systems. You enjoy working closely with customers and know how to manage customer relationships to achieve the best results. You are result‑oriented, perform the assigned duties with high autonomy and commitment, and provide periodic updates to management. Planning and organizing are two of your strong characteristics, and you can see the big picture.

Role Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works with Managed Service Provider leadership to identify and drive implementation of solutions to continuously improve IT Operations services. Validates MSP performance data to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Is responsible for the direction, analysis and continuous improvement of the following disciplines:
    • System and Configuration Item (CI) transition to operations (TTO)
    • Incident Management / Major Incident Management
    • Problem Management – root cause analyses and continuous improvement in system reliability
    • Server and workstation patching, compliance and vulnerability reduction
    • Works with monitoring engineers to continuously improve issue prediction and detection, as well as incident avoidance and automated response.
  • Drives the ongoing adoption of process improvements, automation, and AI to enhance the efficiency and delivery of IT Operations services.
  • Uses ServiceNow capabilities, such as reporting and dashboards, to analyze and communicate Operational activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned during Storm and other urgent situations.
  • Integrates Cyber Security into all strategic and tactical activities.
  • May be asked to provide On‑Call escalation support on a rotational basis.
  • Provides backup coverage for DWA and Fusion Center Operations Systems Administrator on an as needed basis.
