Job summary

Aave Labs is seeking a Principal iOS Engineer to lead the iOS engineering team and shape the architecture of Aave App. You will balance hands-on technical depth with day-to-day team leadership to deliver a secure, intuitive consumer savings experience built on blockchain infrastructure.

This role owns the technical direction for iOS, from architecture and standards to wallet security, transaction flows, performance, and release quality.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building production iOS applications, with leadership at Principal/Lead level
• Expertise in Swift and UIKit, architecture, concurrency, networking, and native frameworks
• Hands-on blockchain functionality integration into iOS apps, wallets, keys, signing, RPCs
• Track record of setting architectural direction for complex consumer apps
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving clear ownership across teams
• Strong judgment on performance, testing, observability, release safety and incident response
• Ability to communicate architecture, risk, priorities, and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of Aave App on iOS and set direction for secure, maintainable product development
• Design and ship core blockchain features including wallet creation, key management, signing, and onchain reads
• Lead integration of onchain and offchain data across savings, funding, vaults, and analytics experiences
• Set standards for Swift/ UIKit code quality, testing, observability, and release safety
• Remain hands-on in foundational architecture and critical production issues
• Collaborate with design to deliver precise UI and a cohesive mobile design system
• Coach and mentor iOS engineers and contribute to hiring and team development
