Job summary

NextPath Workforce Solutions is seeking a Principal Integration Architect to join our client’s team in Reading, PA. This onsite, contract-to-hire role focuses on leading integration architecture across platforms and building high-throughput pipelines with Kafka, MQTT, and APigee-driven APIs.

You will drive API management, secure integrations, and data governance across Snowflake and cloud services, collaborating with data and engineering teams to advance product goals.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of significant experience in integration architecture.
• Hands-on Java and Spring Boot in distributed systems.
• Experience designing and operating third-party integrations and APIs.
• Experience with API management platforms like Google Apigee.
• Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, JMS, AMQP, MQTT.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native patterns.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake data warehousing and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration strategy across third-party platforms and internal systems.
• Define and evolve the integration architecture and roadmap.

NextPath Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Principal Integration Architect to join our client’s team in Reading, PA. This is an onsite, contract-to-hireo position.

SALARY: $70-75/hour (depending on experience).

REQUIREMENTS

• 15+ years of significant experience in integration architecture, leading architecture across multiple teams or complex platforms
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in distributed systems
• Extensive experience designing and operating third-party integrations and APIs at production scale
• Experience with Google Apigee or comparable enterprise API management platforms
• Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, and messaging protocols such as JMS, AMQP, and MQTT
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native integration patterns
• Strong understanding of Snowflake data warehousing and operational-to-analytical data integration

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead integration strategy and execution across third-party platforms and internal enterprise systems
• Define and evolve the integration architecture and technical roadmap to align with product goals
• Design and implement high-throughput Kafka pipelines, including event contracts, partitioning, and schema evolution
• Develop integrations with real-time IoT devices using messaging patterns like MQTT
• Manage API lifecycle, gateway policies, versioning, traffic management, and analytics using Google Apigee
• Design secure integrations using zero-trust principles, OAuth 2.0, and identity federation
• Establish data governance practices, schemas, and metadata standards across services and pipelines
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on Snowflake data integration, quality, and governance
• Drive CI/CD and automation for services, APIs, and integrations
• Evaluate the secure integration of AI/LLM features and MCP servers into systems
• Communicate architecture decisions and technical tradeoffs to teams and stakeholders
• Support operational readiness through observability, incident response, and resilience planning
