Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer - Golden Paths to join the Infrastructure Architecture team. You will help transform how engineering teams build, deploy, and scale secure, resilient, and production-ready solutions across the enterprise.

You will drive the evolution of Golden Paths, influence standards, and collaborate with architecture, security, and platform teams to enable faster, consistent delivery and higher quality outcomes across the organization.

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale software, platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering solutions.
• Strong ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, governance, risk management, compliance, and modern engineering practices.

We’re looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer - Golden Paths to join our ever-evolving Infrastructure Architecture team and help shape the future of global commerce. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in transforming how engineering teams build, deploy, and scale secure, resilient, and production-ready solutions across the enterprise. By driving the evolution and adoption of Golden Paths, you will simplify development experiences, accelerate innovation, improve engineering consistency, and enable teams to deliver high-quality outcomes faster and with greater confidence. Working across architecture, security, platform engineering, and software development teams, you’ll influence enterprise-wide technology direction, strengthen engineering excellence, and help advance Global Payments’ mission to deliver trusted, scalable payment solutions that power commerce around the world.

What you’ll own

• Lead the enterprise evolution of the Golden Path program , driving adoption, governance, and continuous improvement to create a scalable engineering ecosystem that accelerates delivery, improves consistency, and increases business value across the organization.
• Influence engineering standards and strategic technology decisions by serving as the trusted subject matter expert for Golden Paths, enabling teams to adopt secure, resilient, and production-ready solutions that reduce complexity and improve developer productivity.
• Shape enterprise-wide engineering outcomes through collaboration with architecture, security, platform, infrastructure, and software engineering teams, ensuring Golden Paths align with business objectives, compliance requirements, and long-term technology strategies.
• Own the success and growth of the Golden Path portfolio , establishing priorities, success metrics, lifecycle management practices, and adoption goals that drive measurable improvements in engineering efficiency, quality, and reuse.
• Build and cultivate a thriving contributor community , strengthening governance, knowledge sharing, and participation while enabling teams to innovate within established guardrails and continuously raise the standard of engineering excellence.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale software, platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering solutions, with a track record of driving meaningful technology transformation and business outcomes.
• Demonstrated success designing and implementing reusable engineering frameworks, developer platforms, reference architectures, or standards that increase productivity, consistency, and scalability.
• Strong ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and stakeholder groups, building alignment and driving adoption without relying on direct authority.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture, secure-by-design principles, governance, risk management, compliance, and modern engineering practices within complex enterprise environments.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for engineers, architects, and executive leaders.

It’s a bonus if you have

• Experience leading developer enablement, organizational change, or engineering transformation initiatives that increased adoption of standards, platforms, or best practices.
• Proven success building and sustaining engineering communities that encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Experience defining and measuring engineering productivity, adoption, reuse, or platform success metrics to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate business value.
