Job summary

DomainTools is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. You will design and build a foundation for real-time internet-scale data processing and management across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will provide technical leadership, shape architectural standards, and collaborate across the organization to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable data systems for threat defense and investigation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software/hardware/systems engineering or leadership.
• Experience designing, building, and operating large-scale orchestration systems.
• Experience with major internet protocols and standards (DNS, Whois, RDAP).
• Passion for internet security.
• Ability to cross organizational boundaries to solve problems.
• Strong understanding of architectural trade-offs at scale.
• Technologist with broad knowledge of software, systems, and operations.
• Able to defend designs from architectural first principles.
• Adapt designs to the realities of a complex business.
• Tenacity, creativity, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a foundation for real-time internet-scale data processing and management.
• Design and develop a platform for software and infrastructure management spanning cloud and on-prem systems.
• Develop and maintain observability tooling including logging, metrics, and alerting spanning cloud and on-prem systems.
• Define technical standards and best practices as a leader in the engineering organization.
• Reconcile complex, conflicting distributed architecture spanning multiple companies over multiple decades.
• Provide technical leadership within DomainTools broadly.
