Job Title: Principal Industrial Maintenance Engineer 3
Pay Rate: $76 to $89/HR
Duration: 12 months
Our client is a large Aerospace Industry Manufacturer.
We are looking for a Principal Industrial Maintenance Engineer 3 to support a large aerospace manufacturing operation in El Segundo, CA. This individual contributor will be responsible for improving the reliability, performance, safety, and uptime of manufacturing and operational equipment and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience with autoclaves, PLC/control programming, temperature and pressure control systems, equipment reliability, and manufacturing/facilities engineering.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automation, and controls issues with maintenance teams.
- Support new facility builds and modifications to existing infrastructure.
- Improve equipment reliability, performance, uptime, and maintainability.
- Develop preventive maintenance plans and manage critical spare parts.
- Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Develop equipment health, risk assessment, and machine‑monitoring strategies.
- Work with production, maintenance, quality, and project engineering teams.
- Schedule contractors and develop Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Review designs against applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME and NFPA.
- Develop SOPs, training materials, and equipment specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's with 3+ years; OR PhD with 1+ year.
- Experience in facilities, manufacturing, electrical, mechanical, power, construction, operations, engineering, design, or aerospace.
- Hands‑
- Experience with autoclave experience.
- Experience with PLC programming, including Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagram.
- Experience with temperature and pressure control loops.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance and Program Access.
