Job summary

Crown Castle is seeking a Principal Category Manager – Indirect Sourcing to lead software, technology, and professional services sourcing. You will guide category strategy, coach a team of managers, and partner with Legal, Finance, and IT to negotiate major contracts.

The role emphasizes driving cost savings, risk management, and supplier performance improvements in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid work with travel expectations accompany this leadership position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of indirect strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
• Experience negotiating enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, IT, and professional services agreements.
• Proven track record managing complex negotiations with strategic suppliers like Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow.
• Experience drafting master services agreements, SaaS, and related contracts.
• Experience developing category strategies delivering cost savings and supplier improvements.
• Strong financial and analytical skills, including TCO analysis.
• Experience using Coupa or similar sourcing platforms.
• Familiarity with Avetta for supplier onboarding and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic indirect spend categories across software, IT, legal, fleet, utilities, marketing, and professional services.
• Lead complex negotiations with key suppliers and drive cost savings and risk mitigation.
• Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business objectives.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, IT, Security, and leaders to negotiate and execute contracts.
• Lead RFX events, supplier evaluations, and sourcing recommendations using Coupa and related tools.
• Manage supplier relationships, business reviews, and performance improvements.
• Identify and deliver savings, cost avoidance, and value creation opportunities.
• Coach and develop a team of indirect sourcing professionals.
• Drive compliance with procurement policies and supplier governance.
