Job Overview

Do you want to be at the forefront of innovating the latest hardware designs to propel Microsoft’s cloud growth? If you seek a unique career opportunity that combines both technical capabilities, cross‑team collaboration, business insight, and strategy, this is the role for you. Join our Systems Planning and Architecture (SPARC) team within Microsoft’s Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure (AHSI) organization and help drive Microsoft’s expanding Intelligent Cloud mission.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers and partner organizations to drive a hardware accelerator and server infrastructure initiative for Azure data centers.
  • Identify and prioritize customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive gaps, and translate them into clear, actionable product requirements and specifications.
  • Lead the strategic product vision and drive internal alignment among wide‑ranging cross‑functional stakeholders to define the hardware technology platform plan of record.
  • Lead technical programs from concept to execution, collaborating with architecture, engineering, and business teams to develop and drive end‑to‑end product development.
  • Establish platform‑ and front‑end network prioritization strategies based on workload analysis. Track dependencies across SoC, OS, agents, networking, and telemetry, and work closely with supply teams to mitigate risks related to hardware availability and timeline shifts.
  • Engage with senior leadership, highlight risks across functional teams, and provide recommendations to support product‑level decisions.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguity. Apply processes that create value and design processes where needed, recognizing when each approach is most appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience working in HW accelerator programs or as a product manager.
  • 7+ years of technical product management experience, including products within datacenter hardware systems and/or cloud infrastructure.
  • 7+ years of experience creating product roadmaps from conception to launch, driving end‑to‑end program execution, defining product go‑to‑market strategy, and leading program‑direction discussions.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check; this position requires passing the check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Communication skills, including the ability to build compelling internal/external presentations and technology‑focused whitepapers, and comprehensive business‑review materials; ability to translate abstract thoughts, key themes, and tactics into understandable messages for broad consumption.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and depth of security concepts, especially pertaining to cloud/ server architectures and business models.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑resolution, and decision‑making skills.
  • Superior judgment, team building, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure.
  • Proven experience in effective cross‑group, cross‑company, and cross‑industry collaboration.
  • Personal maturity, modeled on Microsoft values.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle ambiguity in a fast‑paced, changing environment with a highly organized, process‑focused aptitude.
  • Problem‑solving and negotiating skills; ability to deal with conflict, multiple constituencies, and manage multiple simultaneous objectives.
  • Proficiency in software and hardware architectures, including knowledge of component technologies (networking, silicon, storage, memory, etc.) in the hardware industry.
