A leading engineering solutions provider is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join their team in Columbus, Indiana. The successful candidate will coach and train entry-level engineers, develop process improvements, and take on roles such as lead product design engineer. Qualifications

Job description

Job Location: 305 Franklin Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201, and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Telecommuting permitted 3 days/week.

Duties

• Coach and train entry‑level Hardware Engineers
• Develop process improvement and implementation plans
• Develop electronic platforms and motor controls
• Act as lead product design engineer for electronic applications
• Mentor junior Hardware Engineers to solve complex problems
• Perform root cause analysis and error correction of system‑level problems relating to hardware, controls, firmware, and architecture
• Stay abreast of new technology and competitors’ products and suggest hardware procedure enhancements
• Share lessons learned

Requirements

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in an engineering or technical role, including all of the following skills: communication and computer hardware interface; design tools (PSpice, MATLAB, or Mathcad); OEM standards and EMC design guidelines; electronic platform design; test setup and hardware connections; field testing and troubleshooting.
• In lieu of a master’s degree and 4 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, mechatronics engineering, or related field, and 6 years of post‑bachelor’s progressive experience in engineering or technical roles that includes the above skills.
