Job summary

Fanatics TCG, a Seattle-based studio within Fanatics Collectibles, seeks a Principal Graphic Designer to lead graphic design systems for trading card game franchises. This senior role translates creative direction into scalable, production-ready solutions while shaping franchise identity and visual language.

You’ll lead card-frame architecture, typography, iconography, and color systems, with hands-on execution and collaboration across Creative, Game Design, Product Development, and Production

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional graphic design experience or equivalent ownership of complex brand work.
• A portfolio demonstrating advanced craft in typography, hierarchy, composition, color, and information design.
• Experience creating and evolving scalable visual systems, templates, standards, and shared tools.
• Ability to lead complex or ambiguous design challenges and translate direction into practical solutions.
• Experience partnering across creative, product, game design, and production disciplines, with mentorship or craft guidance.

Responsibilities

• Define and steward the visual design language for Fanatics TCG franchises, ensuring each property has a distinctive, recognizable, and scalable identity.
• Lead the development and evolution of card-frame systems, including frame architecture, information hierarchy, typography, iconography, color, and visual grammar for gameplay information.
• Develop and maintain franchise identity systems, including logos, color systems, typography, graphic elements, and brand standards.
• Translate concepts into documented design systems, templates, shared libraries, and production tools for consistent use across cards, packaging, and marketing materials.
• Hands-on design lead for high-impact initiatives, guiding from concept through production-ready execution.
• Partner with Game Design to ensure systems support readability and gameplay without losing franchise character.
• Collaborate with Creative, Product Development, and Production to balance creativity with production constraints and schedules.
• Establish and uphold design quality standards across the product line and provide rationale for design decisions.
