Job summary

Roche Diagnostics France is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer to design and develop automated verification tests for bioinformatics pipelines in Roche Sequencing products. You will contribute to scalable, distributed NGS data analysis software used for gene sequencing research and disease diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • Requires a degree in Software Engineering, Data Science or Computational Biology or related field.
  • Five or more years in OOP with C++ and GPU-accelerated libraries.
  • Strong Python skills including numeric computing and data science.
  • Experience with CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience designing, documenting and executing verification tests.
  • Self-driven, detail oriented, analytical, quick learner; strong team collaboration.

The Opportunity


  • As a Bioinformatics Software Engineer, you will design and develop automated verification tests for the bioinformatics components and pipelines that are used in Roche Sequencing products. You will be part of the team developing cutting-edge, distributed, scale-out Next-Generation Sequencing data analysis software to ensure the highest possible software quality for gene sequencing research and disease diagnostics.

  • Work closely with research and algorithm experts, accelerating bioinformatics techniques using GPU hardware. Support software development lifecycle and Design Control process, working closely with team members to continuously improve quality and feature sets of the software products, based on technical design and requirements specificationsWork closely with team members to continuously improve the quality and feature sets of software products. Who You Are


  • B.S. or M.S. or PhD in Software Engineering, Data Science or Computational Biology or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in working in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using C++ and practical experience utilizing GPU-accelerated C/C++ libraries.

  • Strong expertise in Python, including numerical computing and data science libraries.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and concepts.

  • Experience designing, documenting and executing verification tests.

  • Be self-driven, detail oriented, analytical and proven ability to learn quickly.

  • Be a team player, customer focused with excellent interdisciplinary collaboration skills.



Preferred Qualifications


  • NGS data and bioinformatics pipeline verification.

  • Proficiency in AWS and Linux Shell environments

  • Software verification experience focusing on medical device software or regulated applications.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $165,800 - $308,000 annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
