Job summary

Procore is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Directory team in Austin, with a 2-day hybrid schedule. You will set the technical direction for the Directory domain, spanning Go backend, React/TypeScript frontend, and legacy Ruby/Typescript systems. Immediate start and FedRAMP eligibility required for government projects.

You will drive architecture, oversee the Ruby-to-Go migration, and champion event-driven design using Kafka, ensuring robust, scalable systems across services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of experience architecting distributed backend systems with CQRS/Event Sourcing.
• Strong Go proficiency and experience with domain-driven design.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for the Directory domain across backend and frontend services.
• Guide the Ruby-to-Go migration and CDC pipeline.
• Lead GraphQL API design and federation through the gateway.
• Champion event-driven architecture with Kafka-based streaming.
• Establish observability, testing, and containerized deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate across Infrastructure, Security, and Product leadership.
• Support maintenance of existing Ruby on Rails and NestJS services.
