Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a Principal Geotechnical Tailings Engineer to lead tailings facility siting and design in Denver, CO, with options for Scottsdale, AZ or Reno, NV. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, deliver design drawings, and ensure adherence to GISTM.

The candidate brings 15+ years of geotechnical leadership, embankment dam experience, and PE licensure or reciprocity. Collaboration with hydrologists, environmental specialists, and other engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading multidisciplinary teams on mine waste projects.
• Experience in embankment dam and lined facilities design.
• Knowledge of slope stability, seepage, and stress–strain analysis.
• Ability to obtain PE in NV/AZ or via reciprocity.
• Experience with DoR/EoR responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams for tailings facility siting and design.
• Direct preparation of drawings and technical specifications.
• Represent the company at mining conferences and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in proposal preparation and client engagement.
• Ensure compliance with GISTM and industry standards.
