Job summary

Southern Company Gas seeks an experienced engineer to lead project engineering, management, and technical problem-solving across natural gas processing and storage facilities, compressor stations, and related infrastructure.

The role spans Engineering III (Level 5), Senior Engineer (Level 6), and Principal Engineer (Level 7), with opportunities for advanced levels based on experience, education, and certifications. Candidates will guide design, procurement, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• A BA/BS in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Design infrastructure for natural gas processing and storage facilities and compressor stations.
• Provide technical support for electrical power systems and on-site generation and switchgear.
• Guide I&C systems including PLC-based control, safety monitoring, and SCADA.
• Lead projects with minimal supervision to successful completion.
• Specify and review equipment and vendor qualifications; manage procurement.
• Ensure designs comply with DOT safety regulations and corporate standards.
