Job Description

GliaCell is seeking a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer on a subcontract for a U.S. Government customer. This full‑time position supports sustaining critical mission‑related software and systems for a large government contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop scripts and analytics to provide novel insights into unique questions.
• Find and aggregate data from disparate sources and integrate it into new and existing tools.
• Develop new UIs and visualizations to provide customers with better understanding of their data.
• Elicit requirements and feedback directly from end‑users and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other DATs and QC teams to share expertise and elevate all teams.

Key Requirements

• Possess an active or re‑instatable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Professional/Education experience: 12 years & Bachelors of Science Degree, or 4 additional years in place of a BS Degree.
• Works well independently as well as on a team.
• Strong communication skills.

Required Skills

• Experience developing in Python, specifically data transformations.
• Experience writing frontend web apps in JavaScript/TypeScript with React.
• Experience querying and developing in a big data environment.
• Experience developing on or managing Linux servers.
• Comfortable working directly with customers and users to solve unique hard problems.
• Desire to architect and implement solutions from beginning to end.

Desired Skills

• Experience using AWS.
• Experience with other programming languages or frameworks (Java, FastAPI, Angular, Spring Boot, etc.).
• Desire to mentor and teach others.
• Knowledge of AI/ML and Big Data tools (DuckDB, Polars, Pandas, Spark).

Laurel, MD (onsite full time).

Salary Range

Annual salary $200,000 to $280,000. Sign‑on bonus eligible.
