Job summary

Nyla Technology Solutions seeks an experienced Software Engineer to join team TKO, driving end-to-end development of processing-intensive systems with direct customer interaction and daily Scrum updates. You will leverage Jira to maintain transparent workflows and contribute to modernization efforts, including RAD and PULSE / ABACUS.

The role requires strong Java and front-end capabilities, Docker and Jira tooling, and a proven track record in customer-facing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline with 20+ years of SWE experience.
• Or High School Diploma/GED with 24+ years of specialized technical experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience leading customer-facing demonstrations and daily Scrum reporting.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex processing systems.
• Lead live product demonstrations and communicate progress in daily Scrum updates.
• Collaborate with customers, using Jira to manage software tickets and sprint tasks.

ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join team TKO and drive the end-to-end development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex, processing-intensive systems for a widespread user base. In this role, you won't just write code behind closed doors; you'll have direct customer interaction, conducting live product demonstrations and leading daily Scrum updates to convey project progress. You will leverage Jira to keep workflows transparent and play a key role in ongoing modernization efforts, including Report Authoring & Dissemination (RAD) and ecosystem tools like PULSE / ABACUS. The annual base salary range for this role is $216,000-$256,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.

Required Skills

• Java Development: Proven experience developing with Java (preferably Java 21 or greater).
• Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker, including creating custom images and maintaining vulnerability-free containers.
• Modern Front-End: Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks, with a strong preference for Vue.js.
• Agile Workflow & Tooling: Applied experience using Jira to create, monitor, and manage software tickets and sprint tasks.
• Customer Engagement: Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles, product demonstrations, and daily Scrum reporting.
• Domain & Modernization Awareness: Familiarity with PULSE / ABACUS platforms and an understanding of modernizations involving Report Authoring & Dissemination (RAD).

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, paired with relevant full-lifecycle software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on professional experience) PLUS 20+ years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 24+ years of specialized technical experience in lieu of a degree.

Desired Skills

• Experience building and publishing Spring Boot REST APIs.
• Experience with eVo environments, including low-side to high-side integration methods (e.g., Greybox, Mockito, or equivalent simulated testing frameworks).
• Proficiency with Bash scripting and standard Linux-based development tools.
