Job summary

ClickUp is building the future of work with a converged AI-enabled frontend stack. We are seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to set the long-term frontend vision, drive architecture across product surfaces, and lead major engineering efforts at scale.

You will mentor senior engineers, collaborate with design, backend, and product leaders, and push for high-quality, performant systems across Angular and React. This role requires a hands-on, strategic contributor in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of frontend engineering experience with large-scale web apps.
• Expert-level experience with Angular, React, TypeScript, RxJS, and NgRx or similar state management.
• Proven track record architecting complex frontend systems used by many users.
• Deep expertise in performance optimization and scalable frontend design.
• Experience driving technical strategy across multiple teams.
• Strong judgment balancing speed, quality, and long-term architecture.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong mentoring background.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive frontend architecture strategy across product areas.
• Lead design of scalable, performant systems in Angular and React.
• Solve cross-team technical challenges related to performance, state management, scalability, and developer productivity.
• Partner with backend and integrations teams to shape end-to-end architecture for major features and systems.
• Raise the bar for quality, testing, maintainability, and engineering rigor across the frontend organization.
• Provide technical leadership on high-impact initiatives and unblock teams working through ambiguous or difficult problems.
• Guide teams toward pragmatic decisions that support both speed and long-term product quality.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers, and help shape frontend engineering culture and standards.
• Influence roadmap and organizational decisions through strong technical judgment and product partnership.
