  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of finance experience, or 5 years with advanced degree.
  • MBA, CPA, CMA certification preferred.

A Day in the Life

The Principal Financial Analyst will drive financial performance and strategic decision-making across three Colorado manufacturing sites by serving as a trusted Operations Finance business partner. Influence operational outcomes through financial leadership, actionable insights, and data-driven recommendations that support site objectives, optimize performance, and deliver business results. In-person exchanges are invaluable to our work. We’re working a minimum of 4-5 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial modeling and analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and assess key drivers including rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and cost performance.
  • Deliver comprehensive variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities to improve operational and financial outcomes.
  • Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations that enable leaders to make informed business decisions.
  • Develop, enhance, and optimize financial reporting systems, processes, and analytics to improve visibility, reporting efficiency, and decision support.
  • Monitor business performance across functions, departments, and operational areas, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Actively partner with site leadership through participation in Tier meetings, Gemba walks, staff meetings, Monthly Operations Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and other key operational forums.
  • Own and support site budgeting and forecasting processes, including volume planning, productivity and efficiency assumptions, overhead spending, absorption analysis, material variances, and period costs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, prioritize, and track cost reduction initiatives, validating financial impacts and driving accountability for results.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to address evolving business needs, support strategic initiatives, and accelerate decision-making.
  • Provide financial guidance and challenge assumptions to ensure operational plans align with organizational objectives and financial targets.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant finance experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant finance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • MBA, CPA, and/or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience leveraging SAP, BPCS, Hyperion Spend, CMR, or similar enterprise systems to drive financial insights and business performance.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem‑solving capabilities with the ability to influence outcomes through data‑driven recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of Project Accounting and financial controls.
  • Experience partnering with operations teams within a manufacturing environment to improve financial and operational performance.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$110,400.00 - $165,600.00 This position is eligible for a short‑term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
