Job Duties

Full‑time faculty member, under the supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for participating in the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of the program’s didactic and clinical components.

  • Accreditation – Assists the Program Director with maintaining accreditation by coordinating the efforts of the PA Program to meet and/or exceed the ARC‑PA Standards.
  • Teaching – Instruct first‑year and second‑year students in the following: lecturing in area of expertise; history and physical; diagnosis skills; advanced patient evaluation; clinical skills/procedures; OSCEs (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations); clinical year document review; master’s capstone advisor; preparation for clinical practice; curriculum review academic/clinical curricular content for appropriateness to PA practice; monitor evaluation of learning outcomes; create and review academic and clinical exams.
  • Committee Service – Will participate on appropriate committees (as schedule allows) as requested by the Program Director; participate in ARC‑PA accreditation and program evaluation activities as deemed appropriate; participation in admissions process including application review, interview and serving on the admissions committee.
  • Developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program.
  • Scholarly activities are encouraged (involvement in professional organizations, research, etc.)
  • Remedial instruction – Preparation of accreditation documents and participation in the self‑study process.
  • Serving on school‑wide committees is encouraged.
  • Recruitment efforts.
  • Other duties/leadership positions as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Valid and unrestricted state license to practice is required.

  • Current or recent clinical practice is required.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical practice experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience in a Physician Assistant program or other graduate medical education program preferred.
Education
  • Master’s degree or higher in a healthcare profession such as Physician Assistant (preferred); Nurse Practitioner; Physician; Pharmacist.
