Job description

An established environmental consulting firm is seeking a senior consulting leader to drive business growth, manage key client relationships, and provide technical leadership across complex environmental projects. This role is ideal for an experienced "seller-doer" with a strong industry network, a proven track record of business development, and expertise in environmental remediation, site investigation, compliance, and risk management.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding client relationships, leading multidisciplinary project teams, mentoring technical staff, and helping shape the strategic direction of a growing environmental practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while generating new business opportunities.
  • Lead complex environmental consulting projects from proposal development through execution.
  • Manage project teams, budgets, schedules, profitability, and client expectations.
  • Provide technical leadership for site investigation, remediation, regulatory compliance, due diligence, brownfield redevelopment, and related environmental projects.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, legal counsel, developers, industrial organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop technical staff and emerging project managers.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive operational excellence, growth strategies, and technical innovation.
  • Support proposal preparation, client presentations, and strategic business development initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Professional licensure or certification in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Strong technical background in environmental remediation, site investigation, regulatory compliance, environmental risk management, or related service areas.
  • Experience working with state and federal regulatory programs, including contaminated site assessment and remediation programs.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client management, and revenue generation.
  • Established network of commercial, industrial, legal, development, or institutional clients.
  • Strong project management, financial management, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support the growth of junior and mid-level professionals.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies, clients, and key stakeholders.
