Description

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

We are seeking Principal Enterprise Architects to join our Strategic Customer Engagements (SCE) team to work on AWS’s most complex commercial pursuits. The ideal candidate has experience in leading global technology strategies with enterprise companies, defining strategic technology initiatives, and integrating multiple solutions into holistic offerings.

You should be an expert and thought leader in complex business-IT transformations including platform modernization, enterprise systems, digital transformation, cloud migrations, outsourcing, governance, software development, and enterprise architecture. A sales background that enables pursuit engagement is essential. You should be able to interact effectively with builders, architects, and C-suite leadership.

Our customers aim to disrupt and lead their markets. You will advise on business reimagination and transformation using modern digital technologies.

Key job responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior customer leaders (CIO, CTO) to develop a shared vision and architecture based on transformation strategies.
• Engage in pursuits spanning multiple Amazon business units.
• Define holistic, outcome-based solutions with sales, strategy, and business development teams.
• Ensure solutions are integrated, aligned with enterprise standards, leverage common services, and meet financial goals.
• Serve as AWS’s executive technical sponsor for strategic initiatives.
• Coordinate with system integrators, ISVs, and partners, providing oversight.
• Create presentations articulating strategy, vision, and value propositions.
• Present to C-suite executives including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CIOs, and CTOs.
• Partner with sales leadership and field sales teams.

Work with cross-functional teams across Amazon and partners—legal, product, engineering, architecture, structuring, and professional services—to execute pursuits successfully.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years in building/implementing technical infrastructure or advising operations.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role such as CTO, Head of Technology, Principal Solutions Architect, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise architectures for Fortune 1000 companies and engaging C-level executives.
• Broad technical expertise including cloud computing, DevOps, IoT, databases, analytics, security, storage, containers, etc.
• Thought leadership in enterprise IT infrastructure and adoption, with experience closing large deals and working with global enterprise customers and partners.
