Job summary

Ikuto in San Francisco and New York is seeking a Principal / Enterprise AI Architect to drive long-term, AI-native transformations for Fortune 500 clients. You will architect agentic AI systems and cloud architectures while guiding engineering teams.

The role requires a deep SWE background, hands-on Python, multi-cloud experience, and the ability to articulate complex trade-offs to C-suite leaders. Travel ~25% to client sites; equity is included.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of total technical experience, with at least 5+ years of hands-on SWE experience before moving into solution/enterprise architecture.
• Deep hands-on familiarity with Python, APIs, Microservices, LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, Data Pipelines, and Multi-Cloud Architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Enterprise transformation experience designing architectures for complex environments or high-stakes verticals.
• Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical C-suite stakeholders while maintaining technical rigor.

Compensation: $200,000 – $275,000 Base Salary + Significant Equity + 100% Covered Medical/Dental/Vision

Travel: ~25% Client On-Site Travel

Rather than building short-term, single-use-case proofs-of-concept, our client partners directly with C-suite executives at top-tier global enterprises to lead multi-year, AI-native transformations across entire business functions.

As an Enterprise AI Architect, you will sit within Engineering and serve as the principal technical authority and long-term strategic partner to Fortune 20 / 500 client leadership. You will bridge technical vision and execution—designing agentic AI frameworks, custom LLM systems, and cloud architectures, while collaborating with Forward-Deployed Engineering teams to drive multi-million-dollar outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• C-Suite Technical Vision: Serve as the primary technical advisor to C-level and engineering executives at strategic enterprise accounts, shaping their long-term AI architecture roadmap.
• System Design & Architecture: Architect scalable, production-grade AI platforms, multi-step agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, and cloud integrations (AWS / GCP / Azure).
• Lifecycle Ownership: Own the complete technical arc of key client accounts—from initial solution mapping through technical program construction and deployment oversight.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Forward-Deployed Engineers, Product Management, and Go-To-Market leaders to translate messy enterprise infrastructure into high-impact AI solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Core Software Engineering Foundation: 8+ years of total technical experience, with at least 5+ years of hands-on Software Engineering (SWE) experience prior to moving into solution or enterprise architecture. (Note: Pure Sales Engineering or non-coding advisory backgrounds will not fit this role).
• Modern AI & Cloud Tech Stack: Deep hands-on familiarity with Python, APIs, Microservices, LLMs, Agentic AI, RAG, Data Pipelines, and Multi-Cloud Architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Enterprise Transformation Experience: Proven track record designing architectures for complex enterprise client environments or high-stakes verticals (e.g., Financial Services, Healthcare, Telecom, Pharma).
• High Technical Depth + Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to non-technical C-suite stakeholders while maintaining the technical rigor to dive deep into backend architecture.
