Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, is seeking a Principal Technical Support Engineer to lead customer deployments, platform bring-up, and performance optimization for next-generation AI networking infrastructure.

This role focuses on high-speed Ethernet fabrics, SONiC-based network operating systems, switch ASICs, and GPU cluster networking, requiring strong troubleshooting and customer-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of networking, systems software, or technical support engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with SONiC or another Network Operating System (NOS) such as Cumulus Linux, Arista EOS, Cisco NX-OS, Juniper Junos, or FBOSS.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar scripting languages.
• Solid understanding of Linux, TCP/IP, Ethernet switching, routing, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with network validation tools such as PTF, SPyTest, or comparable testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of switch ASIC architecture and high-performance networking hardware.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead bring-up, validation, and performance tuning of AI networking platforms supporting large-scale GPU clusters.
• Debug and resolve issues spanning SONiC, Linux, networking protocols, switch ASICs, and distributed infrastructure.
• Develop automation, diagnostic utilities, and telemetry tools to improve deployment efficiency, monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
• Support customer deployments, proof-of-concept evaluations, integration testing, and production issue resolution.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, validation, and product engineering teams to improve platform reliability and customer experience.

Principal Technical Support Engineer AI Networking | SONiC | Ethernet Switching Overview Seeking a Principal Technical Support Engineer to lead customer deployments, platform bring-up, and performance optimization for next-generation AI networking infrastructure. This role focuses on high-speed Ethernet fabrics, SONiC-based network operating systems, switch ASICs, and GPU cluster networking. The ideal candidate combines deep technical troubleshooting skills with customer-facing experience and the ability to resolve complex networking challenges across hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience with 200G/400G/800G Ethernet, PAM4 optics, FEC, PHY technologies, and switch telemetry.
• Familiarity with EVPN/VXLAN, leaf-spine architectures, GPUDirect RDMA, BlueField DPUs, and AI storage networking.
• Experience with Prometheus, gNMI, REST APIs, Ansible, Git, and infrastructure automation.
• Background with performance benchmarking tools such as iPerf3, NCCL Tests, Perftest, or similar networking validation utilities.
