Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Full-Stack Developer to leverage extensive frontend and backend expertise to shape and enhance our security products. The role requires 8+ years in full-stack development, strong TypeScript, React, and web architecture knowledge; Go-lang and Chrome Extensions are a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a degree path (Bachelor 8y OR Master 6y OR PhD 3y OR equivalent).
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and full-stack development.
• Experience with at least one frontend framework (React preferred).
• Knowledge of web application architecture (frontend and backend).
• Nice to have Go-lang experience and Chrome Extensions familiarity.

Principal Full-Stack Developer

We are looking for a talented Principal Full-Stack Engineer that will leverage their extensive experience in both frontend and backend technologies to shape and enhance our product. They will play a pivotal role in developing cutting‑edge web applications. Our Full‑Stack Engineers are crucial in building and maintaining the robust and scalable solutions that drive our cybersecurity efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and own features from design and development through to deployment and support in customer environments.
• Lead platform projects end-to-end, owning specific flows and delivering substantial product improvements.
• Work closely with product management and customers to devise creative and innovative solutions to complex security challenges.
• Serve as a technical leader, mentoring other engineers and improving the team's overall performance and best practices.
• Identify areas for improvement within team processes and actively drive positive change through new initiatives or optimizations.
• Work on both frontend and backend tasks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, build, and optimize features.

Requirements

• Education Requirement: All degrees must be in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of related experience; OR
• Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience; OR
• PhD with a minimum of 3 years of related experience; OR
• Equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience in full-stack development.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Good understanding of web application architecture, including frontend and backend.
• Positive ‘can-do’ mindset, able to work independently and within a team.
• Experience with at least one frontend framework (React preferred).
• Big advantage: Experience with Chrome Extensions.
• Advantage: Experience with Go‑lang.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non‑sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com‑missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
