Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of experience as a Principal Engineer, Software; Software Engineer; Software Developer; or a related position.
• Strong background in project management/change management for acquisition/development life cycles.
• Experience with systems development, implementation, upgrades and analyses; QA testing and code reviews.
• Familiarity with enterprise coding standards and writing highly complex code.
• Experience leading design/coding sessions and coordinating with analysts and users to determine requirements.
• Proficient in iterative software development methodologies and working in cloud-based environments.
• Knowledge of Route Logistics business concepts and experience with open-source technologies and security.

WM Logistics, LLC has an opening for a full-time Principal Engineer, Software in Houston, TX. Job duties: Deliver technical expertise in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Conduct highly complex business process analysis, needs assessments, and lead/participate in design sessions with Architects in order to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Undertake highly complex projects requiring additional specialized technical expertise in software design and testing. Contribute strategic vision and integrate a broad range of ideas regarding applications and software development. Present, communicate, and articulate technical processes effectively to all levels of the organization (including technical and nontechnical audiences, Senior Leadership, VPs and the C-level executives). Undertake the highly complex applications development projects involving multiple disciplines and may impact multiple facets of the business. Develop enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new and by modifying existing software applications with full competency. Lead design/coding sessions, develop solutions, and implement solutions. Articulate design and resolve technical/design conflicts as they occur. Coordinate with business analysts and users to determine requirements. Perform highly complex analyses of system requirements and of existing business processes and information systems. Hybrid position. Must report to office at 800 Capitol St., Suite 3000, Houston, TX 77002 4 days a week.

Min. Req.:

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of experience as a Principal Engineer, Software; Software Engineer; Software Developer; or a related position.

5 years of technical experience in one or more of the following:

• Cloud Technologies: AWS Services such as Lambda, IAM, S3, EFS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, CLI, Kinesis, Glue, Elasticache, CloudWatch, and/or CloudFormation.
• Databases (Oracle, SQL, Server, and/or PostgreSQL).
• NoSQL databases (Cassandra and/or Dynamo DB).
• Python and Java.
• Service Oriented, Microservices, and Event-driven design patterns.
• Working on complex cloud-based software projects, web application development, security and open-source technologies.
• Agile development methodologies.
