Qualifications

  • Typically 8+ years’ experience in technical-commercial roles across semiconductors, power electronics, or industrial systems.
  • Strong grounding in power management, conversion, architectures, mixed-signal systems, or industrial electronics.
  • Ability to turn market and customer insight into strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and go-to-market execution.
  • Experience developing value propositions, competitive positioning, enablement, and customer-facing technical narratives.
  • Ability to influence global cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop market strategy for priority segments (A&D, healthcare, instrumentation, communications).
  • Define power architecture strategies connecting customer needs to ADI products, platforms, and software.
  • Build business cases for new initiatives, covering revenue potential and strategic fit.
  • Engage customers, OEMs, partners, and field teams to validate needs and shape architectures.
  • Develop launch plans, enablement materials, and competitive plays.
  • Guide alignment across product, applications, sales, and operations to shape roadmap.

Principal Engineer, Segment Marketing – Power Solutions

The Power Solutions group enables ADI to capture system-level power opportunities across Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare, Instrumentation, and Communications.

We are seeking a Principal Engineer, Segment Marketing – Power Solutions to define market strategy, shape roadmap priorities, and convert customer problems into qualified opportunities.

This P5 individual contributor role requires technical credibility, customer insight, commercial judgement, and cross-functional leadership to scale Power Solutions from product engagements to repeatable platforms and go-to-market models.

Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy
  • Develop a deep understanding of priority segments, including Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare, Instrumentation, and Communications.
  • Translate market sizing, customer pain points, architecture trends, competition, and technology shifts into investment recommendations.
Solution Strategy
  • Define power architecture strategies that connect customer needs to ADI products, platforms, reference designs, software, and support models.
  • Partner with systems engineering, applications, product lines, and technology teams to shape requirements, trade-offs, and differentiated concepts.
Business Execution
  • Build business cases for new solution initiatives, covering revenue potential, strategic fit, validation, differentiation, and execution needs.
  • Build qualified pipeline with sales, field applications, business development, and product line teams.
Customer & Field Engagement
  • Engage customers, OEMs, partners, and field teams to validate needs and shape architectures.
  • Translate system challenges into ADI proposals and roadmap feedback.
Positioning & Enablement
  • Develop launch plans, enablement materials, customer content, competitive plays, and proof points.
  • Position ADI as a power system architecture partner, not only a component supplier.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Guide alignment across product, applications, systems, sales, business development, operations, and executive teams.
  • Provide market, customer, and competitive feedback to shape roadmap, prioritisation, and execution.
Required Skills And Experience
  • Typically 8+ years’ experience in technical-commercial roles across semiconductors, power electronics, or industrial systems.
  • Strong grounding in power management, conversion, architectures, mixed-signal systems, or industrial electronics.
  • Ability to turn market and customer insight into strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and go-to-market execution.
  • Experience developing value propositions, competitive positioning, enablement, and customer-facing technical narratives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field required.
Preferred Experience
  • Advanced degree such as a Master’s, PhD, or MBA.
  • Experience in Defence/Avionics, Medical, Instrumentation, or Telecommunications.
Other Requirements
  • International travel may be required, typically 10–15%.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $157,080 to $227,460.
