Primary Purpose Of Position

Primary Duties And Accountabilities
  • Performs advanced engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has excellent knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Functions with recognized industry‑level of expertise in a technical area.
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects.
  • Provides in‑depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability and availability ensuring compliance with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
  • Provides initial or complete task management of engineering issues.
  • Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Supports plant design modifications, testing and problem solving.
  • Assure all engineering products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate functional supervisory activities including personnel, budgetary accountabilities and planning goals with respect to engineering personnel.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management, including but not limited to department duty coverage, call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical) with 10 years professional experience.
  • Maintain minimum access requirements, as applicable, and a favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Combustion Turbines and/or Steam Turbine mechanical engineering and field support.
  • Experience with GE 7HA and/or Siemens 501G Combustion Turbines or similar.
  • One of the following: (A) Recognized fleet or industry expert. (B) Registered professional engineer. (C) Master’s or PhD in engineering or physical science.
  • One of the following: (A) Site or corporate leadership (leads HITs, project manages outage or on‑line work, leads for issue termination, troubleshooting lead). (B) Industry leadership (chairs EPRI committee, owners group committee chair, leads industry initiative). (C) Interdepartmental experience.
